New York State Library

Description
"Digital Collections include contemporary and some historical materials from the 18th through the early 20th century in many subject areas. While books make up the core collection, Digital Collections also include primary source materials such as letters, diaries and rare manuscripts as well as maps, music scores, and other visual materials. The Native American Materials Collection includes maps, letters, contracts, and other historical documents. A subset of this collection, the Native American Culture Collection, contains many of the items that were microfilmed as part of the Native American Language and Culture Preservation Project that have been digitized. The majority of the items are in English with some texts, grammars and glossaries, in whole or part, in indigenous languages such as Seneca, Mohawk, Onondaga, and Delaware. Some physical collections containing photographs, documents, and other materials are available in Special Collections or Archives of the library, including original artwork by Native Americans Jesse Cornplanter and Howling Wolf. See website for full details on available materials and access to collections."
